Bogotá, October 5, 2021 (FNC Press Office)– In September, coffee production in Colombia, the world’s largest producer of mild washed Arabica, reached 1.2 million 60-kg bags of green coffee, up 22% from the 995,000 bags registered in September 2020.

So far this year (January-September), production exceeded 9 million bags, down 5% from the over 9.5 million bags produced in the same previous period.

And in the last 12 months, which coincide with the coffee year (October 2020-September 2021), production fell 5% to almost 13.4 million 60-kg bags from 14.1 million bags a year earlier.

Exports grow 23% in September

In line with production, Colombian coffee exports grew 23% in September to almost 1.1 million 60-kg bags of green coffee from the 887,000 bags exported in the same month of 2020.

So far this year (January-September), exports reached almost 9.2 million bags, up 3% from the 8.9 million bags exported a year earlier.

And in the last 12 months, which coincide with the coffee year (October 2020-September 2021), exports grew 1% to almost 12.8 million bags from the over 12.6 million bags placed abroad in the same previous period.
