Colombian coffee production falls 7% in April

So far this year, exports fall 12% to almost 4 million 60-kg bags.
Bogotá, May 4, 2022 (FNC Press Office) – In April, the registered coffee production in Colombia, the world’s largest producer of washed mild Arabica, was 750,000 60-kg bags of green coffee, down 7% from the 810,000 bags produced in the same month of 2021.
So far this year (January-April), production reached almost 3.5 million bags, down 15% from the more than 4 million bags produced in the same previous period.
In the last 12 months (May 2021-April 2022), production was around 12 million bags, down 16% from the 14.3 million bags harvested a year ago.
And in the coffee year (October 2021-April 2022), production was close to 7 million bags, down 17% from the almost 8.4 million produced a year earlier.
Exports fall 10% in the last 12 months
In April, Colombian coffee exports fell 18% to 845,000 bags of coffee from just over one million bags sold abroad in the same month of 2021.
So far this year, exports fell 12% to almost 4 million 60-kg bags from just over 4.5 million shipped to international markets a year ago.
In the last 12 months, exports fell 10% to almost 12 million bags from the over 13.3 million bags exported a year earlier.
And in the coffee year, exports reached 7.3 million 60-kg bags, down 11% from the 8.1 million bags exported in the same previous period.
