The statement was made today by representatives of 35 Asian, Latin American and African coffee-producing countries in Nairobi (Kenya), where they urgently called on all actors in the coffee chain to act quickly and responsibly to solve the current international coffee price crisis that is devastating entire communities of producers across the globe.
The representatives of Antioquia, José Eliecer Sierra (current president of Colombia’s Steering and National Committee of Coffee Growers); Boyacá, José Alirio Barreto; and Caldas, Eugenio Vélez, attended this important meeting.
