Carolina Castañeda has a B.Sc. in Physics, a B.A. in Economics, a minor in Mathematics, a minor in Finance, and a master’s degree in Economics at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá. In 2012 she received a master’s degree in Finance Mathematics from New York University.

The appointed Director of FNC B.V., who will take over her new position once the work visa procedures in the Netherlands are completed, started working at the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (FNC) in risk management projects in Bogotá in October 2006.

In April 2007 she moved to Colombian Coffee Federation Inc., the FNC’s branch in New York as Director of Investments and Special Projects, managing green coffee sales and the 100% Colombian Coffee Program. At the beginning of 2015, she was appointed Senior Director of Green Coffee Trading for North America.

Castañeda will work for the FNC’s coffee market in Europe. Before joining the coffee business, she worked in Bogotá at Colombia’s Central Bank (Banco de la República), Estrategias Corporativas, and Bancolombia, as well as at the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington DC.

Adriana Mejía, the Director of FNC B.V. in Amsterdam, left her position on May 6 and Flor Betancourth will take over as acting Director while Carolina completes the corresponding work permits.
