Bogotá, August 3, 2022 (FNC Press Office) – In July, registered production of coffee in Colombia, the world’s largest producer of washed mild Arabica, fell 22% to 944,000 60-kg bags of green coffee from the over 1.2 million bags produced in the same month of 2021.
So far this year (January-July), production reached almost 6.4 million bags, down 8% from the little more than 6.9 million bags produced in the same previous period.
In the last 12 months (August 2021-July 2022), production exceeded 12 million bags, down 10% from almost 13.4 million bags harvested a year earlier.
And in the coffee year (October 2021-July 2022), production declined to almost 9.9 million bags, down 12% from almost 11.3 million a year ago.
YTD coffee exports vary slightly
So far this year, coffee exports fell slightly, 1%, to almost 6.9 million 60-kg bags, practically the same number of bags sold abroad a year ago.
In July, coffee exports fell 14% to one million bags of 60 kg of green coffee versus the almost 1.2 million exported in July 2021.
In the coffee year, exports almost reached 10.2 million 60-kg bags, down 4% from the almost 10.6 million bags exported a year earlier.
And in the last 12 months, coffee exports fell 2% to almost 12.4 million bags from almost 12.6 million placed abroad in the previous period.
