Annual production exceeds 13.8 million bags

  • In the month, thanks to the growing “normalization” of activities, coffee exports reached 1.3 million 60-kg bags, up 9% from the nearly 1.2 million bags exported in the same month of 2019.

Bogotá, December 7, 2020 (FNC Press Office) – In November, registered production of coffee in Colombia, the world’s largest producer of mild washed Arabica, exceeded 1.4 million 60-kg bags, down 4% from the over 1.5 million bags produced in November 2019.

So far 2020 (January-November), coffee production exceeded 12.1 million bags, down 7% from the almost 13.1 million bags produced in the first 11 months of the previous year.

In the last 12 months (December 2019-November 2020), production exceeded 13.8 million bags, down 4% from almost 14.4 million bags produced a year earlier. And in the coffee year, production exceeds 2.6 million bags, 9% less than the almost 2.9 million produced a year earlier.

Coffee exports grow 9% in November

In November, thanks to the growing “normalization” of activities, coffee exports reached 1.3 million 60-kg bags, 9% more than the almost 1.2 million bags exported in the same month of 2019.

So far this calendar year, exports exceeded 11.2 million 60-kg bags, down 9% from the almost 12.3 million bags exported between January and November 2019. With 12.6 million 60-kg bags, Colombian coffee exports in the last 12 months fell 7% compared to the almost 13.6 million bags exported a year earlier. And in the coffee year, exports exceeded 2.3 million bags, down 2% than the almost 2.4 million bags produced a year earlier.
