Bogotá, May 5, 2021 (FNC Press Office) – In April, recorded coffee production in Colombia, the world’s largest producer of mild washed Arabica, reached 810,000 bags (60-kg), up 9% from the 744,000 bags produced in the same month of 2020.
So far this year, coffee production exceeded 4 million bags, up 12% from the 3.6 million produced in the first four months of 2020.
In the last 12 months, production exceeded 14.3 million bags, up 2% from the 14 million bags produced a year earlier.
And so far this coffee year (October 2020-April 2021), production reached 8.4 million bags, 3% more compared to the almost 8.2 million bags produced in the same previous period.
Exports grow 61% in April
In April, thanks to better logistic flows, coffee exports grew 61% to 1 million 34,000 bags (60-kg) from the 642,000 bags exported in April 2020.
So far this year, coffee exports rose 21% to 4.5 million bags from the 3.7 million bags exported in the first four months of 2020.
In the last 12 months, coffee exports grew 2%, exceeding 13.3 million 60-kg bags from the almost 13 million bags exported a year earlier. And so far this coffee year, exports grew 9%, exceeding 8.1 million bags from the almost 7.5 million bags exported in the same previous period.
