In February, coffee exports rise 14.4%. This good joint performance offset a slight fall of 8.7% in February.
Bogota, March 5, 2019 (FNC Press Office) – In the first two months of the year, Colombian coffee production reached 2.4 million bags, 2.5% up from the 2.3 million bags produced in the first two months of 2018.
The good performance of the first two months offset the slight drop of 8.7% in February, with 1.1 million bags compared to the 1.2 million bags produced in February 2018.
In the last 12 months (March 2018-February 2019), coffee production exceeded 13.6 million bags, 2.5% down from the almost 14 million bags produced in the same previous period.
And so far this coffee year (October 2018-February 2019), over 6 million bags were produced, 3.2% down from the nearly 6.3 million bags produced in the same previous period.
Coffee exports grow 14.4% in February
In February, coffee exports rose 14.4% compared to the same month of 2018, from almost 1.1 million bags to 1.26 million 60-kg bags.
In the first two months of the year, exports rose 12.6%, from almost 2.2 million bags to over 2.4 million bags.
In the last 12 months (March 2018-February 2019), coffee exports exceeded 13 million bags, 1.6% up from the 12.8 million bags recorded in the same previous period.
And so far this coffee year (October 2018-February 2019), coffee exports were around 6 million bags, 6% up from almost 5.7 million bags in the same previous period.
