Bogotá, August 5, 2019 (FNC Press Office) –  Coffee production in Colombia, the world’s largest producer of mild washed Arabica coffee, reached almost 8 million 60-kg bags so far this year (January-July), up 5.4% from the 7.6 million bags produced in the first seven months of 2018.

In July, coffee production rose 25.3% to 1.3 million bags from 1.05 million bags in July 2018.

In the last 12 months (August 2018-July 2019), coffee production reached almost 14 million bags, 0.4% down from the 14.03 million bags produced in the same previous period.

And so far this coffee year (October 2018-July 2019), production reached 11.7 million bags, 1.3% up from the 11.5 million bags of the same previous period.

Colombian coffee exports grow 9.5% so far this year

Year-to-date (January-July) exports grew 9.5% to reach 7.7 million 60kg bags versus the 7.05 million bags exported in the first seven months of 2018.

Colombian coffee exports in July grew 7.6% to 1.2 million 60kg bags from 1.1 million bags sold abroad in the same month of the previous year.

In the last 12 months (August 2018–July 2019), coffee exports rose 4.2% to 13.4 million bags from the 12.9 million sold abroad in the same period.

And so far this coffee year (October 2018-July 2019), exports reached 11.3 million bags, 7% up from the 10.6 million bags exported in the same previous period.
