Given the importance of maintaining coffee plantations young and productive, the FNC, with resources from the national Government, makes available to producers the coffee plantation renovation program, seeking to encourage them to renew their plantations by providing credits and soil fertilizers for each site renovated by planting or cutting (“zoca”); it is subject to the use of varieties resistant to rust and to the coffee berry disease (CBD), such as the general Castillo, regional Castillo and Tabi varieties.

With this program the FNC aims at improving the income and well-being of Colombian coffee growers, and it is essential for the coffee business to be more productive and profitable, generating a competitive advantage in the industry, guaranteeing a long-term quality coffee supply and meeting the increasing demand of international markets.
